Application Management

Application management and ongoing platform engineering

Keep the software your business relies on maintained, supported and ready for its next change.

Redevon IT provides ongoing engineering for existing applications, integrations and websites. We work with your team to understand the platform, agree responsibilities and plan the maintenance, support and improvements it needs.

Who it's for

When a platform needs ongoing attention

Ongoing application management process

An application continues to change after launch. Dependencies need updates, connected services evolve and the people using it identify new requirements. A supplier handover can also leave questions about access, documentation and who handles the next incident.

Start with the system you have and the responsibilities that need to be covered. Define what your internal team retains and where Redevon's engineering involvement is needed.

We support Next.js and React applications, WordPress websites and Python applications, including platforms another supplier built, after an assessment.

How it works

Understand the platform
before taking responsibility

( 01 )

Review the platform

Look at the codebase, infrastructure, integrations, access arrangements and documentation. Identify known issues, operational dependencies and any work required before ongoing support begins.

( 02 )

Onboard and agree the handover

For an inherited platform, agree the handover with the current owner or supplier. Onboarding can take place within a week, depending on access and documentation. Stabilisation work the review identifies is scoped separately.

( 03 )

Ongoing support

Maintenance, incident investigation, monitoring and planned improvements run within the agreed scope and capacity, during business hours.

( 04 )

Review progress and priorities

Review work, incidents and upcoming changes with your team. Discuss recurring problems and dependencies, and adjust the plan when business needs change.

What's included

What ongoing work can include

Maintenance and updates

Review dependencies and supported components, prioritise required changes and agree how updates will be tested and released.

Incident triage and fixes

Record the issue, assess its effect on the business and investigate the relevant systems. Agree communication, escalation and recovery responsibilities for the severity involved.

Application and integration support

Maintain the connections and workflows the application relies on. Review API changes, failed jobs and recurring faults within the agreed scope.

Monitoring and backups

Define what is monitored, who receives alerts and when a person responds. Specify which backups and restore checks are covered and how those checks are recorded.

Planned improvements

Keep an agreed backlog of fixes, usability changes and enhancements. Prioritise that work alongside maintenance and incidents, with visibility of the available capacity.

Documentation and release management

Keep operating notes and change records up to date. Agree checks, deployment steps and recovery options before changes reach production.

Common questions

Questions before
starting

Yes, after an assessment. Share the platform, technology and available documentation so we can review access, dependencies and known issues before agreeing ongoing responsibility or any required stabilisation work.

We support Next.js and React applications, WordPress websites and Python applications, including those built by another supplier. The initial review confirms whether a specific platform can be supported as it stands.

Maintenance and updates, incident triage and fixes, monitoring and backups, and planned improvements, agreed for the systems covered and the capacity available. SEO, conversion and content work can be added as separately scoped work. Explore digital strategy and growth.

Cost depends on the platform, its condition, the work included and the support coverage required. Engagements start from US$3,000 (£3,000). Work beyond the agreed capacity is approved before it is billed, so there are no surprise overages.

Support is provided during business hours. How critical issues are handled, including any response outside those hours, depends on the agreed contract. Monitoring can still record and alert on issues, but alerts are not the same as a person responding.

Onboarding can take place within a week, depending on access, documentation and the condition of the platform. Any stabilisation work the review identifies is scoped before ongoing support begins.

Yes. Include planned improvements in the agreed scope and backlog. Larger changes may need their own estimate and release plan so maintenance and incident work remain accounted for.

That depends on its condition and requirements. The initial review distinguishes the work needed for ongoing support from a larger modernisation project. Explore custom software development.
