DevOps consulting and cloud engineering services

Plan infrastructure changes, improve how applications are deployed and make operational responsibilities clear.

Redevon IT works with engineering teams to assess existing environments and implement changes around their applications, workloads and delivery requirements. Start with the problem your team needs to solve, whether that is a difficult release process, an infrastructure change or a planned cloud migration.

Where it starts

When your infrastructure needs attention

Infrastructure work often starts with a practical problem: deployments depend on manual steps, environments differ, cloud costs are difficult to explain or the team has limited visibility when something fails.

Bring the application, current setup and operational constraints into the discussion. The first step is to identify what needs to change, what should remain and how the work will affect the people who build and run the system.

How we work

Assessment, implementation
and ongoing operations

These are stages of one engagement, scoped together from the first conversation rather than bought as separate packages.

( 01 )

Assessment and planning

Review the current environment, release process, dependencies and operational concerns. Define priorities and a proposed scope that your team can use to decide what to do next.

( 02 )

Implementation

Carry out the agreed infrastructure and delivery changes. Establish acceptance checks, deployment steps and recovery options before introducing changes to a live environment.

( 03 )

Ongoing operations

Agree who monitors the environment, responds to incidents and handles future changes. Where continued engineering support is required, define its scope, working hours and escalation arrangements as part of the engagement.

Capabilities

What the work can include

Cloud architecture and environment setup

Design and set up environments on AWS and Google Cloud around the application's requirements. Consider workload, access, dependencies, resilience and running costs when defining the approach.

Deployment pipelines

Make build, test and deployment steps explicit. Agree the checks required before release and the steps available if a change needs to be recovered or rolled back.

Infrastructure automation

Use versioned infrastructure configuration where it fits the environment, and containers or Kubernetes where the workload calls for them. Review how changes are approved, applied and documented so the team can understand the resulting setup.

Monitoring and operational visibility

Define the metrics, logs and alerts that help the team understand application behaviour. Identify who receives alerts, what they should investigate and when to escalate.

Cloud cost review

Compare resource use with the needs of the application. Identify potential changes and assess their operational effect before implementing them. Any savings estimate should follow a review of the actual environment.

Common questions

Questions before
starting

We work with AWS and Google Cloud environments. Share the applications and current setup so we can assess the requirements and the changes involved.

We set up and work with Kubernetes where it suits the workload and the team can operate it. For simpler applications, managed services or a less complex platform may be a better fit; the choice should follow application and operational requirements.

That needs to be assessed for the specific system. Dependencies, data changes and transition options determine what is practical. Agree service continuity requirements, a change window where necessary and recovery steps before implementation.

An estimate needs a review of current usage and requirements. Potential changes should be assessed for cost, performance and operational impact before a saving is quoted.

Monitoring, response and escalation responsibilities are agreed as part of the engagement. Support is provided during business hours, with response targets for each priority level set in the agreed scope.

Cost depends on the environment, the changes required and any ongoing operations. Engagements start from US$3,000 (£3,000). Share your current setup and the outcome you need so we can discuss a suitable scope and estimate.

A short description of the problem, your cloud platform, applications, release process and any upcoming deadlines is a useful starting point. Existing architecture notes and recent cost information can help define the discussion.

Discuss your infrastructure

Tell us what is difficult to deploy, operate or change. Share the current situation and the outcome your team needs so we can discuss the scope and next steps.
